Dune Awakening Patch

Dune: Awakening Deep Desert Update Overhauls Endgame for PvE and PvP Players!

Dune: Awakening is getting a major update to improve the Deep Desert endgame experience for both PvE and PvP players. Developer Funcom is listening to player feedback, addressing concerns around resource gathering, griefing, and Landsraad activities. This patch promises a richer and more balanced experience for all.

Deep Desert Gets Deeper: More PvE, More Loot

The biggest change? The PvE zone in the Deep Desert has been significantly expanded. Previously a small slice of the map, it now covers a whopping 50%! This means more opportunities to explore, farm, and survive without constantly looking over your shoulder for PvP encounters. The update also makes it easier to find valuable Tier 6 resources in PvE areas, crucial for crafting and progression. Unique loot containers now have randomized respawn timers, and the crafting components are split based on the content location for a more engaging experience. Plus, the chance of different Uniques dropping in PvE loot in the Deep Desert has increased.

PvP Tweaks: Stopping the Border Wars

PvP players haven’t been forgotten! To combat “border camping” (where players wait just outside safe zones to ambush others), the delay for leaving a PvP security zone has been increased from 5 to 30 seconds. This gives defenders a better chance to react and protect their territory, leading to fairer and more strategic engagements.

Landsraad Improvements: Contributing Post-Completion

The Landsraad system is also seeing changes. Players can now contribute to Kill and Delivery tasks even after a faction has already completed them. While this doesn’t affect who won or how many guild votes were awarded, it allows individual players to still make personal contributions and earn rewards, ensuring everyone can participate regardless of when they join the effort.

Bug Fixes and Stability

Beyond the major features, the update includes several bug fixes and stability improvements. These include preventing sandworms from pushing vehicles under the terrain, a new audio alert for PvP zone changes, and fixes for stuck contracts, lost rewards, and vehicle customization issues. Funcom is clearly dedicated to polishing the game and addressing player concerns.

The Spice Must Flow… Smoothly

This latest Dune: Awakening patch addresses many community concerns and improves the overall gameplay experience. Whether you’re a dedicated PvE explorer or a seasoned PvP warrior, there’s something for everyone in this update. So, fire up your Ornithopter, gather your resources, and prepare to face the dangers and opportunities of the Deep Desert!
